Sunday mornin', rise and shine! Gonna leave all the cares of this world behind, Better hurry, 'cause it's almost time! Gonna go praise the Lord. Through the neighborhood lickety-split, Woops! Watch out! I almost got hit, But it don't bother me one little bit: Gonna go praise the Lord. All 'round the church folks are still in their bed, Bums on the corner beggin' for bread, Gotta sing loud enough to raise the dead: Gonna go praise the Lord. Sermon this mornin's a little bit long, Can't wait till we get to that final song, What's he mean when he says my attitude's wrong? Gonna go praise the Lord. If some folks are poor, it's ambition they lacks, I can't hear what you say, don't confuse me with facts! Besides, they all live t'other side of the tracks. Gonna go praise the Lord. Long hours at work--there's so much to get! When I get home I'm tired, can't do nothing' but sit. Don't have time to serve Jesus--just on Sundays, that's it: Gonna go praise the Lord. My philosophy's simple, it's easy to see All that matters in life is my family and me. Read my Bible and pray--for success that's the key: Gonna go praise the Lord.
